About

Howdy! My name is Andrew Balettie and I am currently a high school band director in the Dallas, Texas area. I am primarily a saxophonist, though I have substantial experience in all woodwind and brass instruments. As a band director, my students have achieved nothing less than the highest possibleĀ ratingĀ at concerts and sight reading contests. I currently hold a Bachelor's Degree of Music in Music Education from the University of North Texas College of Music. In addition, I have studied saxophone with Dr. Joe Compean, Joey Collarusso, Dr. Eric Nestler, Kyle Stec, and Dr. Thomas Rainey. Prior to band directing, I spent three and a half years teaching saxophone and clarinet privately in Azle, Texas. While there, my students consistently received the highest praise at solo and ensemble contests and were often selected as all-region and all-area musicians.

I strive to be student-centric, adapting to the needs and expectations of each student. I hold students accountable in a manner that displays professionalism while continuing to maintain a fun, open learning environment. Your love for music is my number one concern!

In order to create a productive learning environment, students should have the following for each lesson:
-A functioning instrument and all accessories
-Sheet music AND A PENCIL
-Open Ears
-Open Mind

That's it!
