Beginner Lead Guitar Camp

In this Beginner Lead Guitar Course, we will go over the technical training to develop your skills and enhance your musical vocabulary with studies and implementation of scales, techniques, and improvisation strategies. We also go over case studies followed by analysis and breakdown parts, so you will learn how the great solos are created.

We will be using tablature in PDF files if you don't have a Guitar pro software, loops in mp3 for training and you will have weekly homework and a final project to present at the end of the course.

Goals

The goal is to develop your lead guitar technique and improvisation skills.

Target group

This course is for Lead guitar players looking to develop their solo technique and expand the improvisation vocabulary with modern concepts over pentatonic scales, greek modes ( Major, Harmonic Minor and Melodic Minor forms).

Contents

  • Notation, Chord Diagrams, Tablature System, Guitar pro files, mp3 looping for training and backing tracks.
  • Songs analysis and breakdown. ( Case studies )
  • Studies over: Pentatonic Scales m7, m6, Relative Minor Mixolydian, Diatonic forms and Greek Modes ( Major, Harmonic Minor and Melodic Minor forms)

Camp Schedule

This camp starts July 28 and will meet twice a week on the following schedule:

Tuesdays and Thursdays, at 1 pm EDT | 10 am PDT | 5 pm UTC

July 28, 30, August 4, and 6

Each camp day campers will meet for two 45-minute sessions with their counselors and fellow campers with a 10-minute break between parts. Campers can also attend other activities taking place during the week, including performances.
