Contemporary Finger Style Guitar 1 Camp
I start with an over view of Contemporary American Fingerstyle and explaining the basics of Pattern Picking, and the Alternating bass.
We will demonstrate how each system is used in varying formats including "Folk", "Traditional Blues", and contemporary styles.
We then learn the first fingerstyle pattern and begin "Educating the Thumb" for independent movement.
Classes then alternate exercises in pattern picking and placing melody notes above the independent thumb.
Materials needed: Contemporary Finger Style Guitar _ The Guitar Instructor Book 6, an acoustic or electric access to a 6 or 12 string guitar, thumb pick optional
