Don't Blow Your Horn – Ride The Standing Airwave
About Don't Blow Your Horn – Ride The Standing Airwave
In terms of playing the horn, I don't see it as a wind instrument. Brass instruments act as a filter and amplifier for the standing airwave inside the horn helping you play with much less effort. I've based this class on my own trumpet technique, including a unique tongue technique that will help you phrase every note, even at fast tempi. This is key in all kinds of music and will also give you a broad spectrum of options from staccato to legato, percussive sounding attacks, etc. This technique will also improve your range, endurance, tone, and intonation.
Class Goals
- - Playing the trumpet the most efficient way, meaning playing with the instrument
- - Improve your phrasing especially in extreme registers
- - Practice less, play better
