Music Theory with Alan Ahued Naime
Music theory is a must for every music-related profession. The student will learn how to read and write, identify notes, scales, chords and tonalities. We will work around the ABRSM 1-8 grades, preparing interested students to get a diploma.
Music composition. Depending on the group's level, we will focus on harmony, melodic structures, analysis, and composition tools. Accompanied with exercises for creativity, the student will be able to write anything, from songs to symphonies.
Notation. You will learn what every symbol means as well as how to write, engrave, transcribe, scan and print music of any style, including contemporary. We will use several types of software with special focus on Sibelius.
ABOUT ALAN NAIME
Hi! I'm a Mexican Composer. I studied Music Theory and Composition and I hold a Masters in Composition as well. I also studied Music Pedagogy, Sound Art and Creativity and I am currently doing a masters in Media, Art, Design and Technology. I teach Music theory, from solfeggio and harmony to orchestration and composition. These lessons are specially made for each student, so we can talk about your needs and I'll try my best to help you. It is helpful for any music career to have a diploma so I can help you to take the ARBSM theory examinations (Grades 1-8) and Associate and Licentiate diplomas. I also teach composition, harmony and melody for popular styles.
Very good class. Nicely structured with interesting approach! I learned a lot (on harmony) in a span of 60 minutes, something that would take me hours on my own. I will definitely take more classes in the future! Recommend it to anyone interested in learning to compose or to play or just to understand the music better.
Wonderful teacher, able to get me through theory fast and making the lesson interesting.
