It was terrific. I made breads I never tried before (such as rye) and learned some tricks.

Such a lot of information was packed into just one hour! After the class, I made the most perfect biscuits, crackers and basic bread. I did it!!!

Class: A Rose And A Rosebud: Simple Wool Applique and Embroidery

Penny was a very good instructor and I feel I learned a lot about the subject. I feel prepared to continue embroidery on my own. This was a very good foundational class.

Class: A Rose And A Rosebud: Simple Wool Applique and Embroidery

I have already shared my great experience, and encouraged others to look at the online courses. I'm signed up for two more! Penny was wonderful....the kit she sent was first-class, and the instruction was timed very well.

Very informative!

Class: Introduction to Wool Applique

I had signed up for a wool appliqué class at folk school but it was cancelled due to COVID so I was very pleased to see this free intro class. Penny fit in more information than I would have thought possible in under an hour. She said a class is being planned for the fall. If the date works for me then I will be signing up. She clearly knows the craft and I’d enjoy learning more from her.

Izumi H. on April 8, 2022
Class: Sashiko: Decorative Japanese Mending

The instructor is very knowledgeable about the subject she teaches. I came out of the class with better understanding of the subject and confidence to work on my own in future.

Class: Sashiko: Decorative Japanese Mending

Broadened my knowledge of Sashiko, via presentation and hands on experience. Instructor provided materials to each of us prior to start of class, which was extremely valuable to extend the experience.

Class: Winter Bread Baking

The instructor was very knowledgeable about bread baking. For me, it was a bit remedial based on my previous bread baking skills. As with many Zoom-style of meetings, the annoying part of the class was when students kept their audio live and it kept interrupting the teaching. I know it was meant to be a community and casual, but in speaker view the screen constantly bounced from the instructor to other screens. Minor point, but very important in the quality of a class. Not sure if the fix is taking a moment to mute everyone, or more frequent notice by the instructor, but it would greatly improve the quality of the class.

Great

Class: Sashiko: Decorative Japanese Mending

Loved it! Learned a lot! I prefer in person though, on a campus, because there are too many distractions working from home. However I must say the cost of the on line class was very reasonable.

Class: Sashiko: Decorative Japanese Mending

It was interested an well organized. The only issue I had is that I felt the teacher should have had a separate camera to demonstrate techniques. I took a design class the week before with Tommye Scanlin. She actually had three cameras to show different angles. It really helped.

Class: Sashiko: Decorative Japanese Mending

I loved it! Instructor very knowledgeable, a good teacher and open to questions. Enthusiastic, as well. Wonderful to have access to such a knowledgeable teacher without having to travel.
