About Modal Jazz Improvisation
Explore the world of modal jazz, that is, jazz which is based on modal scales. Learn the improvisation techniques of pianists such as Herbie Hancock to Keith Jarrett to Chick Corea and beyond. Students will explore all seven modes, with a special emphasis on pentatonic scales.

How It Works
Students can connect to the online platform using a tablet or computer with reliable internet. To actively participate online students also need a webcam with microphone. This live online class is capped at 20 students. The class is covered by the Lessonface Guarantee.

I always love learning new things so I enjoyed this section on modes. It strikes me as something in the 'Once you know the rules then you can break them' category and Peter gave a good exposition about how modal music came about.
