Pop Piano for Teens!

About Pop Piano for Teens!

Would you like to be able to play on the piano the songs you listen to on your playlist? Then join us for "Pop Piano for Teens." We'll learn the basic foundation on intervals and building chords, and creating your own accompaniment for some of your favorite songs! We'll learn some new songs and exercises together, and students are welcome to bring any pop songs they're interested in learning.

This class is limited to 30 students.


Class Materials Needed

Supersonics Pop School Book Level 1, Supermetronome App and/or Youtube backing track links, pencil and eraser, unlined paper and staff paper.

Class Goals

  • - Review knowledge of intervals and chord building and recognition
  • - Play chords with Supermetronome/drum beat track
  • - Learn how to play different chord patterns to create various rhythms that apply to different genres
  • - Practice through the song exercises from the book
  • - Apply knowledge learned to the songs you want to learn!

Skill Level

Basic music and note reading knowledge, if taken or has taken private piano lessons or other piano lessons preferred.

The class will meet for six weekly 45-min live online sessions on Tuesdays at 4 pm ET | 1 pm PT | 20:00 UTC on the schedule below. The first session is on July 6.

How It Works

Students can connect to the online platform using a tablet or computer with reliable internet. To actively participate online students also need a webcam with microphone. The class is covered by the Lessonface Guarantee.
