Real World Theory for Guitarists

About Real World Theory for Guitarists

Have you ever wondered what the technical difference is between major and minor scales or chords? Have you been left in the the dark when other musicians use numbers to talk about songs? Do you avoid 7th chords cause jazz is scary? This 6 week class for beginning to intermediate guitarists will demystify some common music theory topics that often cause confusion. Weekly 45 minute lectures walk students through a deeper understanding of scales, triads, and 7th chords. Participants will also learn what the number system is and how to use it. Other topics covered include song structure and common chord progressions.
