Woodwind Doubling Camp - Musical Theater Edition

Hi everyone! My name is Erika and my summer camp program will introduce you to the concept of woodwind doubling. Woodwind doubling means playing more than one woodwind instrument. This class covers the historical perspective of when woodwind doubling began and how it has changed over the last hundred years. This camp will be interesting and beneficial to students looking to further their musical journey in college and interested in pursuing a career in musical theater work and also to those with a love and appreciation towards woodwind instruments and musical theater.

For those who have access to multiple woodwind instruments, GREAT! I will offer a basic pedagogical approach on how to begin studying and practicing flute, clarinet and saxophone. Those who don’t have access to multiple instruments, DON’T WORRY! :) You can participate on the instrument you do have, listen and ask questions during other instrument instruction.

During this camp, I will provide all students with complete access to method books, woodwind doubling literature, solo works, musical excerpts and Broadway Reed books that coincide with each days topic. I look forward to meeting and working with each and every one of you! Sign up today!
