About The Disposition of Color Blending
This class teaches students to use reflective creativity to construct a physical representation of an emotion or a mood through fiber works. Students will explore color psychology, discuss cultural and historical associations of color, and how these associations impact the way color is perceived. Students will learn how to construct a unique Color Mood Journal to study and create a physical fiber blend representation of that mood.
This class is divided into two segments:
• Students will learn the historical and cultural history of various colors and gain an understanding of psychological aspects that affect how we individually perceive color.
• Students will acutely examine several photos that display various moods and emotions resulting in creating a personal Color Mood Journal and make a physical manifestation of that mood through fiber blending.
This class is limited to 50 students.
Class Materials Needed
Tools - you can use anything to blend with such as:
Blending Boards
Hand Carders
Wool Combs
Drum Carders
Dog Brushes
Colored Wool - Students are highly encouraged to use their own wool and the colors needed are:
1 oz to 2 oz of colored of wool: ( Primary Colors: Red, Yellow & Blue) Black, White Purple, Orange, Green & Pink
