First Steps in Improvisation
About First Steps in Improvisation
Are you interested in Improv, but don't know where to start? It can be awfully intimidating: all those notes and no direction on what to do!
When I first tried to improvise, it just didn't sound good at all! I had some instruction but it didn't help. As time went by, I found my own way of approaching it. It really boils down to a few basic concepts: matching chords and scales, and creating patterns within that. It doesn't have to be complex; you just need a few ideas.
I'll show you how to get started. If you have some experience with chords and/or scales, you’ll be one step ahead.
I’ll provide the materials, and will post them a few days before the class. I’ll message you when they’re ready.

Beverly Cashin
Hello! I've been playing and teaching for several decades, and I can show you how to have fun with the piano. If you're a beginner, I can take you right from step one and have you playing familiar songs by the 1st or 2nd lesson. If you already have some experience, I can add to it.
