About Getting Started with the Blues on the Piano
This is a class that aims to get you starting to play the piano and improvising. The focus is on blues piano - building some vocabulary, practicing in a variety of keys and stylings and learning from listening to the masters.
Class Goals
- Start to play and improvise at the piano.
- Learn some essential vocabulary of blues music as a basis for extending into other styles such as jazz and rock.
- Learning by listening to the greats.
- Building a solid foundation to begin improvising over the blues with other people.

Brian Voll
Brian was born June 1992 in Kitchener, a city just west of Toronto, Ontario in Canada. His musical life began at nine years when he first started lessons with his grandmother. After showing a growing fascination with jazz and blues music he began studies with Andriy Tykhonov.
