Knitting with Handspun yarn with Jill Duarte
About Knitting with Handspun yarn with Jill Duarte
Turning handspun yarn into a finished knitted object can be intimidating. How do you pick a pattern when your yarn is one of a kind? In this workshop, We’ll go over how to classify your handspun yarn in terms of yarn weight, yarn structure, and grist and then how to pick a pattern that will make your handspun yarn shine. You will learn how to measure wraps per inch, angle of twist, yarn structure and grist. Students will go through the process of sampling a handspun yarn, producing a swatch and determining a pattern to use.
