About Once Upon a Time: Storytelling to Learn English
Stories can teach language. Join a professional storyteller to find out how stories can teach, develop, and provide practice for English language learning. We’ll learn several storytelling genres, traditional, personal, and extended stories. FInd out how to use the stories of your childhood with your own personal stories and how to expand them to an audience. We’ll use many storytelling techniques to practice, improve, and create with English language skills. The storytelling craft has many ways to tell stories that are helpful in learning a language, such as retelling, pair/share, changing the ending, or telling from a character’s viewpoint.
This is a great class whether you are an English language learner hoping to gain more experience with English, or a teacher in English language development hoping to discover more ways to reach your students. It is an ideal class whatever your level of English language acquisition, from beginners and intermediate to advanced. Join our circle of teachers and learners in a safe and relaxed environment for having fun with English language learning.

Bowen is a storyteller, educator and environmentalist who believes stories can be transformative. Whenever possible, she merges these passions together, bringing in her training as an illustrator and as a traditional Chinese medicine health provider to the mix. The fusion of all these talents provides a deep and memorable learning experience.
