About

I am a graduate student of Violin Performance at Sacramento State University and have been teaching in the Sacramento area for a year. I enjoy serving as concertmaster for the University's Symphony Orchestra and participating in chamber music. I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Violin Performance from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. There, I performed with the University Symphony Orchestra, Philharmonia, Opera, and various chamber ensembles. Outside of university, I've been honored to participate in fantastic music festivals over the years, from the Omaha Conservatory of Music Institute to the Orfeo Festival in the Italian Alps. I've also studied with great teachers across the country.

I'm especially passionate about contemporary violin music. Some of my favorite performances have been of Maria Newman's Requiem Missa Mortem Da Pacem, and Philip Glass's Piano Concerto No. 2, each with the composer present. While primarily a classically trained violinist, I've been known to enjoy a good fiddle tune as well. I look forward to working with you and helping you grow as a musician!

Suzuki informs much of my violin teaching, but I am also willing to be flexible based on the needs and goals of my students. I believe that technical proficiency is key and that any student willing to learn can master their technique. For more advanced students, I'd be happy to work to find a great repertoire that meets your needs.
