My name is Keith McKinnon. I am 28 years old and I have been playing music pretty much all my life. I started on fiddle when only 6 before falling in love with guitar when I was about 11. Then around 2002 I started teaching myself banjo.

I grew up in North Georgia, and started playing guitar at age 5. I began playing banjo at age 17, and have been very focused on the instrument for 10 years now. I've had the opportunity to study with some of the worlds best players, including Bela Fleck, Tony Trischka, Bill Keith, John MicGann, and Alan Munde.
From Louisville, Kentucky. Started guitar at 12. Knew that I wanted to be a musician more than anything. Began playing bar gigs on guitar and mandolin when I was 15. Moved to Minneapolis in 1980 to form another band. We performed on radio, TV, and lots of recordings.
