Certified Oxford punch needle rug hooking instructor will share every step of the process, whether you are fairly new to the medium or looking to up your skills via this delightful cardinal design. And the yarn in the kit is from the instructor’s sheep! Finished exterior dimension 10.5×10.5 inches. Celebrate the beauty and elegance of cardinals with your very own wooly punch needle creation!

This small group class is presented in collaboration with John C. Campbell Folk School and Lessonface. Participants should enroll at least two weeks before start to ensure materials kits arrive in time. If registering after this point, your kit may arrive after the first session. Students are invited to attend an optional Orientation and Closing Ceremony to connect with various online Folk School classes.



Class Materials

Your class registration fee includes a materials kit with a value of $105 shipped to your door. Residents outside the USA will pay the difference in shipping.

The kit includes:
• Detailed PDF instructions full of photos
• 24x24 inch monk’s cloth, marked with the design
• Hand dyed wool yarn from the instructor’s sheep
• Access to pre-recorded video tutorials for additional instruction

Students will also want to provide:

• 14x14 or 18x18 gripper strip frame (preferably with cover) or suitable stretching frame (such as 17x17 Q-snap frame)
• #14 fine Oxford punch needle
• #13 fine Oxford punch needle
• Bent scissors
• steaming iron and ironing board
• fabric scissors
• needle and thread (preferably cream or white, upholstery thread works great)
• sweater pillerator
• tapestry needle or size D crochet hook
• fabric clips or clothes pins

Refund Policy: To cancel an enrollment or request a refund, contact [email protected]. For 30+ days before, we refund 95%. Between 30 and 5 days, receive a 75% refund. No refunds within 5 days of class start date. Materials kit fees are non-refundable.
