Deep Clean Your Knitting Machine
About Deep Clean Your Knitting Machine
This class will show you how to perform a deep clean on your metal bed knitting machine. There will be a special focus on the carriage including any parts that may be slow to move or stuck. If you have performance issues with your machine, this class will be able to resolve most of those.
You will be provided multiple tools and cleaning/lubricating agents. Some you will use in class and others are yours to keep. This class also goes over how the machine works so you can troubleshoot more effectively. It does require a little bit of elbow grease so plan on minor - moderate exertion (these things are heavy after all) and getting a bit messy. Wear appropriate clothing for cleaning.
Bring your machine, tools, clamps and manual if you have one. Also, if you have your machine stand bring it as well, otherwise you will be provided a table. Wear an apron or clothes you don’t mind getting a bit dirty.
This class is for all levels of machine knitter and any gauge of metal bed machine - standard, mid, chunky.
The capacity for this class is 10 students.

Crystal Lawrence
Crystal Lawrence has been knitting since her Grannie taught her when she was 11. She has always been fascinated by the next challenge around the corner and when her friend and owner of a LYS offered to sell her a knitting machine 12 years ago she was hooked. Almost everything she has learned for MK has come from experimentation, hand knitting know-how, and vintage books.
