Differential Pl(a)ying
About Differential Pl(a)ying
Level up your plying skills with differential plying. This class will take an in depth look at how small, incremental adjustments in how you tension your singles can alter the look and feel of your plied yarns. We’ll begin with a balanced ply and work our way up to a supercoil. Whether you’re a beginning spinner struggling to get a nice, consistent ply or an experienced spinner looking for more insight into this crucial aspect of yarn making, differential plying will help you ply with more confidence, more deliberateness and see your plied yarns in a new light.
What will students learn:
In this class, you will learn what differential plying is and how to spin the spectrum of yarns you can create by making small adjustments in tension. You will walk away with samples that run from a balanced ply to a supercoil.
