How to Make a Quilt
About How to Make a Quilt
Students will make a small quilt to learn the different steps in quilt-making by hand. Directions for patchwork, making the quilt sandwich, quilting, and binding will be given.
The capacity for this class is 12 students.
Class Materials
Students will want to provide:
• Fabric scraps
• Fabric for backing/binding
• Needles
• Thread
• Batting
• Pins
• Scissors for cutting fabric
• Printed class instructions (will be emailed to students)

Sheryl Kessler
Sheryl Kessler attended the University of the Arts and graduated from Philadelphia University (Jefferson University). She has taught privately and at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts Continuing Education program. Sheryl has been working with textiles since 1984 beginning with machine knitting.
