Intro to Core Spinning
About Intro to Core Spinning
This class is the perfect opportunity to learn how to create a one-of-a-kind textured art yarn! It's a low pressure way to try spinning art yarn whether you are completely new to art yarns or you've been around the block and you've just never tried core spinning.
With core spinning you can incorporate almost anything from beads, feathers, sparkly threads and locks!
This class will give you creative control, confidence and a new spinning skill that you can take with you into other areas of art yarns.
What will students learn:
Students will learn a way of drafting that is not used for traditional spinning. They will also learn how to control texture, thickness and strength, as well as how to incorporate a variety of fibers and create specialty fibers with visual effects like curls or beads.
Materials, Equipment, and Supplies the Student Must Bring to Class
Student should bring a spinning wheel with a large orifice, three bobbins with their leads already attached, a lazy kate, and a niddy noddy if they have one.
If you have an e-spinner, you are welcome to bring it as long as it has a large orifice and also as long as you bring your battery for your e-wheel as well.
