About Short Rows on the Knitting Machine
Short rows in knitting can add interesting shapes in color to your plain jersey or it can literally change the shape of the garment you are making. We will be discussing and practicing both of these techniques - specifically looking at how you can add creative color choices to knitting and making heels/toes on socks and shoulder shaping for the front/back of a sweater.

What skills or knowledge do students need to take this workshop?
This class is for advanced beginners on up. You should know how to do some basic knitting on the machine and feel comfortable with hand tools. I will be showing the techniques, knitting and moving on to the next technique. It will be a consistent pace.

Crystal Lawrence has been knitting since her Grannie taught her when she was 11. She has always been fascinated by the next challenge around the corner and when her friend and owner of a LYS offered to sell her a knitting machine 12 years ago she was hooked. Almost everything she has learned for MK has come from experimentation, hand knitting know-how, and vintage books.
