Spinning by Drop Spindle
About Spinning by Drop Spindle
Welcome to the enchanting world of spinning! In this class, we'll embark on a journey that bridges ancient tradition and modern creativity, as we learn the art of spinning yarn using a drop spindle. For centuries, the spindle has been a symbol of craftsmanship and resourcefulness, and now, it’s your turn to wield this timeless tool.
Whether you're a complete beginner or have dabbled in fiber arts before, this class is designed to be both accessible and rewarding. You'll learn the fundamentals of drafting, twisting, and spinning fibers into your very own yarn—each thread a testament to your newfound skills and creative expression. Along the way, we’ll explore a variety of fibers, troubleshoot common challenges, and even discover how spinning can be a meditative and sustainable practice.
By the end of this session, you'll walk away not only with your own hand-spun yarn but also a deeper appreciation for the beauty and history of this age-old craft. So grab your spindle, pick your fiber, and let’s spin some magic together!
