Holiday Gifts: Make or Buy?

The holidays are right around the corner! If you’re thinking about holiday gifts for friends and family and feeling crafty, why not make consider making something this year? Or, for those who prefer learning & doing things for themselves, give the lasting gift of experience with enriching classes or lessons.

For the makers:

With arts classes from teachers on Lessonface and from our partners at the John C. Campbell Folk School, it's easy to take a class and make some gifts for the special people in your life.

Mixed Media Collage on November 18 walks students through basic collaging techniques in order to design and create paintings, while Watercolors Made Easy, December 4-8, simplifies this artistic process to produce a whole week's worth of paintings.

On December 4, you can join a class dedicated to painting holiday botanicals to make hand-painted holiday cards, or learn to paint your pet's portrait on December 12. For those who are interested in woodworking, Woodturning: Plate with a Basket Illusion Rim is happening December 9-10.

If you prefer to give a musical gift, there's still time to work with a teacher on a musical performance, or even learn to write your own song to give to a loved one.

For the givers:

A thoughtful gift can be one that keeps on giving, like investing in the future happiness of a dear friend or loved one. Lessonface gift cards can be used for lessons or classes on Lessonface, so if you know someone who would enjoy learning and growing in music, languages, or the arts, giving a gift card is an idea to give inspiration, confidence, and fulfillment.

Gift cards on Lessonface are 10% off through November 30th!
