How to Book a Free Trial Lesson

To try a free meet-and-greet lesson with a teacher or two before booking a paid lesson, enter your instrument, language, or art of interest in the search bar that says "What would you like to learn?" On the next page, use the "Offers free 15-min trial" filter to browse the profiles of teachers who offer a free introductory session.

You may wish to use other filters as well. The "Teaches kids" filter will show only teachers who have indicated aptitude for teaching kids, and who have passed a background check. You can filter by the teachers' availability for particular days of the week and times of day.

Check out the great teachers. Once you decide what teacher(s) you'd like to meet for a free trial, click the "Book a lesson" button on their profile page. Go through the fast and easy booking process to set up the lesson - confirming the topic, choosing the free 15-minute option for the duration, and a time from the teacher's availability calendar.

That's it! Neither credit card nor blood oath is needed to book a trial.

If you discover later that you cannot make the trial, you can cancel it from your Lessonface dashboard, or send your teacher a message asking for a reschedule. Teachers appreciate hearing from you either way, and may reach out to you prior to the trial lesson to confirm.

I remember being told as a child that the person who tries 12 things, and fails at 11, is doing better than if they had tried nothing and failed at nothing. That said, we do ask that you book no more than 3 or so trial lessons at a time, no more than one per teacher, and only take advantage of the free trial lessons if you do have the intention of booking more lessons once you find a teacher who is a good fit for your learning goals. There are so many stellar instructors at Lessonface, we're confident you will find the right guide, possibly even on the first try.
