Congratulations to Lessonface teachers Erika Andres and Leah Kruszewski for reaching 5,000+ lessons taught on Lessonface! We’re thrilled to be able to celebrate this significant milestone in their online teaching journeys with these two fantastic instructors.

Both of these prolific teachers have earned multiple Teacher of the Year awards from Lessonface celebrating their accomplishments and all they do for students during their time on this platform.

Erika Andres, Flute & Piccolo Teacher

A flute and piccolo teacher in Georgia, Erika Andres holds a Bachelor’s degree in flute performance and music composition from Armstrong State University, and earned her Master’s degree in flute performance from Florida State University. Erika’s time as a teaching assistant during her graduate degree gave her experience teaching undergraduate flute majors and prepared her for her position as a professor of music appreciation.

As an active performer in bands, orchestras, recitals, and as a soloist, Erika is a member of the National Flute Association and director of the Savannah Area Flute Association’s flute choirs. She has been given 391 five-star reviews from students for private lessons taught on Lessonface after joining the platform in May of 2017, such as:

“Erika is a superb teacher. She has been helping me understand music theory and its applications to playing music better. She has all kinds of suggestions on how to play the flute better, be it the style for the kind of music you’re playing or details on alternative fingerings, for just a couple of examples. Her patience is limitless, too!”  ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - Verified Student on August 6, 2022

Leah Kruszewski, Flamenco & Classical Guitar Teacher

Leah Kruszewski, a guitar teacher focused on classical and flamenco lessons, first studied classical guitar at Virginia Commonwealth University, before studying on scholarship at one of Spain's most renowned and rigorous professional flamenco schools, the Fundación Cristina Heeren. Leah currently resides in Seville, Spain where she performs regularly and accompanies flamenco dancers and singers.

Leah founded and led a flamenco-inspired ensemble and co-directed and performed in VCU's Flamenco Festival during its nine-year run, and has also played in the Portuguese fado group Fado Nosso and the Richmond Guitar Quartet (classical guitar). Leah has been an instructor on Lessonface since April, 2015, and has earned 617 five-star reviews by students who take private lessons with her like this one:

“Leah is very friendly and accomplished guitarist. She provides information on flamenco via PDF, offers options for presenting material and records important parts of the lesson, which is awesome. She checks to make sure you are comfortable with material before moving forward and makes it as challenging as you like it. She's a wonderful teacher!” ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - Jessica D. on March 14, 2023

Erika Andres says:

“Teaching on Lessonface has been an incredibly worthwhile and rewarding experience!  It is amazing to think that I have been teaching online with Lessonface for over five years already and have taught what would have seemed like an incredible number of lessons if you had told me when I started that I would end up teaching over 5,000 of them!  But really the time and lessons have gone by so quickly because I truly love what I do.

I cherish all of my students and very much appreciate that Lessonface has allowed me to connect with them from all over the world.  Honestly, when I started I wasn't even sure I would enjoy teaching online very much, but I quickly realized it is the best thing that ever could have happened to me!  I feel like I get so much inspiration and insight out of teaching students from around the globe in a way that I never could if I were to only teach locally. Although of course I love my in-person students too, I just really like the mix!

I also really appreciate all of the opportunities for my students that Lessonface provides, from hosting student recitals and open-mic nights to having audition opportunities for students to play for world-renowned musicians.  And Lessonface obviously cares about all of its teachers too as they are always trying to provide us with all of the resources that we need and include us in special events.

I am very grateful to be teaching on Lessonface, and I look forward to 5,000 more lessons!” - Erika Andres

Leah Kruszewski shares:

“I’m excited to have taught so many students at Lessonface!  I’m especially grateful for the dedicated students who have been learning guitar with me over several years.  It’s a privilege to guide them and watch them grow musically, and I’m honored to be entrusted with their musical education.  Thanks to all my students for their enthusiasm, and to Lessonface for making it possible to teach them!” - Leah Kruszewski
