Sew Your Own Pencil Case

About Sew Your Own Pencil Case

Spend a couple of hours this Fall with Lessonface Instructor Dawn, The Stitching Coach, and learn to sew a new pencil case (also great for carrying sewing notions and other small items).

In this adventurous beginner class, students should already have some basic sewing skills such as straight line sewing, know how to operate the machine with very little direction and have a zipper foot that works with your machine.

Students will learn about ways to improve sewing accuracy, how to finish the fabric to prevent fraying and leave with a stylish new accessory.

Class Materials

Students will want to provide:
• Free pattern - DIY Pencil Pouch With A Bow by See Kate Sew found here: https://seekatesew.com/diy-pencil-pouch-with-a-bow/
• 1/3 yard fabric for main fabric
• 1/3 yard fabric for lining
• 8″ by 9.5″ lightweight fusible interfacing (Pellon SF101 • recommended)
• 12″ zipper
• Basic sewing supplies such as a sewing machine in good working order, zipper foot, scissors, rotary cutter and mat, and acrylic ruler.
