Great Trombonists and Transcription ideas

Hey everyone! 
This week, I wanted to highlight the playing of Melba Liston, who was an important jazz trombonist, composer, and arranger and is historically significant as she was the first female trombonist to break into the male-dominated world of the jazz big band of the 1950's.

Here she is in 1960 performing in Europe with Quincy Jones' Orchestra:

And here's a song Dexter Gordon wrote in tribute to her. She and Dexter grew up playing music together in Los Angeles and this was Melba's first recording session. At just 21 years old, you can hear her unique style already quite developed.
