Fiddle Bowing

The fiddle is considered on of the most challenging instruments to learn and play well, and one of the big difficulties students face involves the bow.  This is not only because of the initial difficulty learning to hold the bow and get a good sound with it, but because of a continuous challenge to use the bow in an appropriate way for the style you're playing.

Getting the right feel while playing old time or bluegrass music heavily relies on how you use the bow, and it can be a long and difficult process without guidance from a teacher. Luckily for those ready to tackle this challenge, I have a group class coming up to help with just that!

Starting next Wednesday, February 2, you can join my class "Fiddle Bowing Intensive" and learn how about all things fiddle bowing, from shuffle patterns to pulsation, and how to apply the concepts to common fiddle tunes.

If you have any questions, feel free to get in contact. See you in class!
